NSIL participation policy
Terms & Conditions
Rules governing registration, kits, training, projects, judging, safety, prizes and participation in the National School Innovation League.
1. Eligibility and league placement
- NSIL is open to students in Grades 3–10.
- Grades 3–5 participate in Category A / Base Camp, Grades 6–8 in Category B / Ascent, and Grades 9–10 in Category C / Summit.
- Age, grade and school information must be accurate. NSIL may request supporting documents.
- A student may participate in only one active team in a season unless written approval is provided.
2. Registration and payment
Registration is confirmed only after the required form, supporting details and applicable payment are received and verified. Registration fee is NPR 1,600 per student, and each group has 3 students.

Prices may exclude delivery or special logistical charges where clearly communicated before payment.
3. Innovation kits and training
- The kit is assigned according to the selected league and is intended for NSIL learning and competition preparation.
- Participants must inspect the kit after delivery and report missing or visibly damaged items within 3 working days.
- Damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modification, water, fire, electrical overload or careless handling is not covered.
- Training schedules, mode and mentor arrangements may vary by location and participant pathway.
4. Student safety and conduct
- Students must follow mentor, venue and safety instructions.
- Bullying, harassment, discrimination, unsafe conduct, cheating, deliberate damage or disruptive behaviour may lead to disqualification or removal.
- Schools and guardians remain responsible for student supervision outside official NSIL sessions and for travel to and from venues.
5. Project originality and intellectual property
- Projects must be substantially created by the registered student team.
- Mentors may guide but must not build or present the project on behalf of students.
- Third-party code, designs, datasets or media must be lawful and appropriately acknowledged.
- Ownership of the student project remains with the student or team. Participants grant NSIL a non-exclusive right to photograph, record and showcase the project for event, educational and promotional purposes.
6. Judging, results and prizes
- Judging may consider innovation, technical execution, SDG impact, teamwork and presentation.
- Judges’ decisions are final except where NSIL confirms a calculation or administrative error.
- Prizes are subject to eligibility verification, attendance and compliance with competition rules.
- Prize descriptions may be replaced by an item of reasonably equivalent value where unavoidable.
7. Schedule changes and force majeure
NSIL may change dates, venues, training mode, mentors, judging format or event structure where required for safety, operational, government, weather or other circumstances beyond reasonable control. Participants will be informed through available contact channels.
8. Personal information and media consent
Registration information is used to manage participation, communicate updates, arrange training, verify eligibility and operate the event. Photographs or recordings may be used for NSIL documentation and promotion, subject to applicable consent and safeguarding requirements.
9. Responsibility and liability
NSIL will take reasonable care in organizing activities but is not responsible for loss caused by incorrect participant information, personal negligence, unauthorized kit use, missed communication, travel arrangements or events beyond reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Questions and complaints
Questions or complaints should be submitted to contact@dursikshya.com with the participant name, registration number, school and a clear description of the issue.
